About the Editors
Marty Gage, Editor-in-Chief
Marty Gage is preparing to bid Brigham Young University-Idaho goodbye. She will graduate in April of 2014 with a Bachelor of University Studies Degree with minors in English and Sociology. She aspires to teach English in high school and spread her passion for literature and writing to the next generation.
Her husband is her sweetheart and her hero. Together they have four children ranging in ages from seven to fifteen. Her family is her main priority and she loves to spend every moment she can with them. Together they read books, explore new culinary recipes and food experiences, watch movies, and most importantly spend lots of time laughing and cuddling on the couch. Their main family goal is to support each other by attending each others baseball games, track meets, play performances, and all other endeavors.

Family vacations contain her favorite memories. As a family, they have explored Yellowstone National Park, rafted rivers in Missoula, Montana, explored beaches all along the coast of California, and are planning a cross country voyage from California to Boston Massachusetts. To Marty, a successful family vacation consists of laughter, enjoying natures beauty, and several lost shoes.
Marty is passionate about life, reading good books, having secret chocolate stashes, being a wife and mother, and making family memories. Dr. Seuss wrote Marty’s favorite quote which she feels captures her life best. It says, "You know you're happy and in love when you can't fall asleep at night because reality is finally better than your dreams." She hopes your reality is just as good!

She has two Associate degrees: one in Journalism from Ricks College and one in Executive Secretarial studies from BYU-Provo. Marie has a Ph.D. husband (Teacher Education), a Ph.D. daughter (Psychology), and two Master degree children (Mechanical Engineering, English as a Second Language) as well as a son with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a daughter who is finishing a degree, so she didn’t want to be the only person in the family with no “real” education. That dream will be realized in a matter of weeks when she happily dons a cap and gown and proudly walks with the “youngsters” at graduation. She also served as her husband's companion when he was mission president in the Mexico Culiacan Mission, 2007-2010.
Marie loves to Skype with her grandchildren and send them Florence’s Chocolates from Rexburg, read, and do yard work. She also loves spending time in the family swim/spa and working on home projects with her talented husband.
